Starting to pack for camp weekend. That used to be gas things up, sharpen things, Ammo, Food and beer. Today so far, it's been all about charging the E-saws batteries and back-up batteries and E-muffs and ear plugs. E-bleeping everything ! This from guy that has to be about a decade behind. How long to E-guns ? Hope I don't live that long...lol.

Winking red lights everywhere, the garage, the basement, the back room. Twilight Zone creepy sorta.

And here I've just decided to never again, buy a gas-powered weed eater.

Funny, I still prefer fuel powered camping gear, cook stoves, lanterns, vehicles, etc. electric is only used sparingly, due to its short use life span.

Well BBD, you are not wrong. I am liking the battery powered saws, a little Milwaukee and a 14" bar Ryobi. These to clear trail, or trim, prune. Quieter. The E-muffs and corded plugs, like too. The hiss and glow of a Coleman lantern..that is missed. Have an oil lantern here, the blue rail road type but bigger version.

I've had to do that!
I wish it were an option today yet.

Sometimes I wonder; but...
Got a cordless dewalt 20 volt drill impact driver combo several years ago. Pretty darn handy. Gave in and got a dewalt weedeater for my wife who hated trying to start stihl gas powered trimmer. I didn't expect much; but it is a real weedeater. The gas string trimmer has sat idle for a couple years now. We have a pretty full compliment of battery powered dewalt tools (20 & 60 volts) and they're legit. The 60 volts are definitely more powerful; but for some things the 20 volts do well and are handier (lighter).
Brother's Milwaukee impact driver was able to break loose some bolts my 20 volts dewalt couldn't; but that Milwaukee probably weighed two or three times as much as the compact atomic dewalt.

I will admit, I have switched to LED lanternsā¦ but so far all of mine are not rechargeable batteries
MRS has a few tools( blower, had a string trimmer ) but those were not āman strengthā
I do have drills and grinders though

I have a full set of Makita 18 Volt power tools in my truck and I protect them with great vengeance and furious anger. Even for as much as I use them I only have to charge the 3 batteries about once a month. Two of our ranches are uninhabited so there are no tools out there. If you didn't bring it, you aint got it. It is mighty aggravating though to pull out my predator caller for a quick set and the rechargeable batteries are dead. Wish I could just pop a couple new ones in and get back to it.

Nope, vehicles have been turn key only for me.OK, recall a few clutch starts ! I do remember non-power steering and 3-on-the-tree trannies, and wing windows. The atv's have gotten the side panel removed, and pull started a few times. The new Honda Rubicon, the Canadians get pull start parts installed, the U.S., nope. They put a small cover over the port. You have to buy and retro fit. I've not gotten to that yet on the new ATV.. I need to hook up and load the trailer this before rain comes. Then unhitch for the day. Vehicle needed for work today. Will re-hitch the loaded trailer in the morning. Care taken to have positive tongue weight.. Weather window for Fri-Sun in Elk Co Penn, looks GREAT !

FWIW: it is the batteries that get you committed to one product line or another. Once you get a big investment in batteries, it gets harder to justify switching brands. We have about six of the 20v dewalt batteries and about eight of the big flexvolt dewalt batteries so we're pretty much dewalt.
