No, but I want one now!
What are your plans for a scope?

No, but I want one now! What are your plans for a scope? I was thinking the same thing! I used to have a large Dakota collection but a divorce and subsequent house refinance was cause for it’s liquidation. Only one left is a .300 Win that Mark Bansner built. All synthetic and fluted but super accurate and shoots lights out! Zeus has it’s twin in .375 H&H that I used to own. It’s a hammer and wish I could afford to get it back.

Ooof! Heavy optic! Unless I am thinking of the wrong scope. You aren’t, just under two pounds or at 2 pounds, depending on objective size. Trapr

The rifle is no lite weight @ 9lbs! I prefer light rifles, which means light optics but I'll sacrifice a few ounces for illumination. A heavy scope on a light gun makes the whole rig want to ride butter side down. When I end up with a heavy rifle I can never decide: it's already heavy so no need to worry about optic weight vs better use a light scope since this thing is already too heavy. Heavier rifles- 7.5-8 lbs or more- usually end up with a Zeiss (intermediate weight), light rifles with Swarovski, Leupold, or Leica.

I was a Leupold guy for years, sadly it seems their quality has diminished some as well as their CS. I run Nightforce now on my working guns and have been very pleased. I have a 5-22x56 on a Cooper 92 backcountry and it couldn't be any better balanced. I may, depending on the blue luster on the Dakota, try and find an older mint gloss Leupold to put on it. IMO another Leupold gaff, when they quit offering gloss blue scopes, cuz not all high end custom rifles are matte black!

Absolutely agree with the gloss issue. I can name one recent gloss scope that's top tier and its been discontinued for a few years. I have looked into these as an option. I don't have any of the new VX3HD, but the VX5HD has served me well. This place does a gloss cerakote that isn't exactly the old Leupold gloss, but falls between the painted European gloss black scopes and the Leupold. www.gunbroker.com/item/932751159

Awesome rifles. I just got a box of Barnes bullets in for the 375 mentioned above today. It’s one of my favorite rifles here.
I’d go with a lighter scope than the NF personally. These guns scream for a low power smaller/lighter optic.
