My Great Uncle was a guide in Northern California for Bear for 20 years. He also traveled quite a bit and was hisself a rancher, I often wonder if these two great men had ever known each other. Unfortunately I had not known or thought to ask before he had passed on to the happier hunting grounds.
Good luck in your endeavors friend, hope you find it.

I READ THAT KEITH STRAPPED ON HIS S&W 4" 44 MAG EVERY MORNING WHEN HE GOT DRESSED, ALWAYS ASSUMED HE USED A GUN BELT, IN THE ABOVE PHOTO LOOKS LIKE HE IS USING HIS PANTS BELT.

In fact a very long shot but the picture at the entrance to the Elmer Keith Museum was taken by me in 1977 at Mr. Keith's home. I allowed Cabela's to use the picture for a simple plaque placed under it crediting me for the photo & acknowledging my company. When the museum was closed I tried through corporate to retrieve the plaque but no success. I know much time has passed but should someone come across it I would love to have it. I've been upset about this for all these years & chose not to discuss it with anyone but I've settled some in my old age. CABELAS SCREWED THIS PROJECT UP FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! THE MAN IN CHARGE SETTING UP THE MUSEUM DID HIS BEST TO FIGHT CORPORATE BUT IT WAS A LOSING BATTLE.
