Not buying a Harley ULH chopper in Germany for $6500 in 1994. Engine alone is worth considerably more, nowadays.
Passed on a pristine, low miles '76 Datsun 280Z for $1600 in 1988 'cos I couldn't swallow the idea of paying $1100 per annum just for liability insurance (18 years old & BAD driving record).

There have been a few but the one I think about periodically is an early S&W 57 4" that was owned by a gunsmith. The action was glass.
Then there was a 475 nimrod that someone here sold that I thought about....then it was gone.

Well,, I've been enjoying guns all my life,, and I regret so many missed purchases,, I couldn't list them all. Some,, because I was broke,, & others,, due to my being stupid at the moment. But I came to my senses long ago & stopped passing on some deals when found. A good example was just last weekend. A buddy of mine,, had seen a Ruger Redhawk in .41 mag at a gun show. He said "It has a scope too." He'd gone to the show on Saturday,, and I'd been to a funeral, & had some work to do. He didn't recall the price. Well, he & I went back to the show on Sunday,, and immediately went to the table with the Redhawk. Yep,, an older,, 7-1/2" bbl, with scope rings,, holding a Burris AO 4X handgun scope. They had the box, papers, shipper & all for the gun. Only the original wood grips were missing as was the front sight. (Removed to mount the scope I'd assume.) A little negotiating,, and I bought it. NO regrets either. I got it for a very fair price. And after that,, as I wandered the show,, I could have sold it (3) times. Most folks had overlooked it THINKING it was most likely a .44 mag.
I sleep better nowadays because I came to my senses long ago,, buying a deal and also not selling stuff. A lot less regrets around here,, (when it comes to gun stuff!)

We need a Mod to close this thread and DELETE it!
If people read this and stop making the dumb mistakes WE have made, where are the guns we now know we should keep going to COME FROM???

Bought my first new vehicle of any type in Germany in the service. 75 SuperGlide....$3149 out the door Watched as a German mechanic showed me the”proper” way to kick a 74.........he did it straight legged. The bike didn’t go over but he did.

Was in Cody in the mid 90s visiting John Linebaugh.........job interview
There was a Mannlicher Schoenauer 1910 with a folding peep in the tang. Regretting to his day. .
Lost a nice Hart Built rifle a friend owned.....stolen.....but I do have his 71. Which means more.

In 2004, had the opportunity to buy an early Les Baer 1911. Tight like a typical Baer, no wear at all. Beautiful classic 5" beauty. Came from an estate into the shop I helped out part time. Shop owner offered it to me for $600. Couldn't afford it. Kills me everytime I think about it.

I've posted before about some of my could've / should'ves in the firearm world; but I've reached acceptance. None would have really changed my life and I could buy as good or better replacements if i really I wanted.
It's really the non firearm could've/ should've/ would'ves that cause me remorse now.

I once failed to pick up a very fine condition Martini Henry Mark I rifle at a local flea market/gunshow. The asking price with a correct bayonet and scabbard was $500. My wife was on a girl scout retreat when I called her about it asking if I could afford to grab it, but she said it wasn't in our budget at the time. Garry James ( through our online correspondence) told me that it was "in most any suitable condition" worth far more than the $500 asking price. But, since the money was not there I had to pass on it. I went back the next day after scrounging up the cash only to find that it was gone. That and a 1st Gen Glock 19 ($600) are my biggest collector regrets to date. Damn!!
