Ten or more years ago I let a Dakota model 10 in 250 Savage slip past at a gun show. CCH Talley rings and some scope. Two grand. I could have swung it back then. What's yours.

In the mid-2000's, the storefront for Interarms in Alexandria, Virginia closed (Potomac Arms). Before they shut down, they purchased a collection from a customer who had bought guns from them starting in the late 50's. He was a collector and almost never shot what he bought. Nearly everything was NIB. I bought a first year .357 flattop Ruger, a first year .44 Magnum flattop with factory stags, the ultra rare 10" flattop .44 Magnum, a few Virginian Dragoons, a 10.5" Ruger Maximum, and a Hammerli Virginian (all NIB). After all that, I had no funds left to spend.....which meant I had to pass on his Python collection. As I recall, there were 10 - 15 Pythons. Blued, nickel, stainless, and even the 3" model from the early 80's. They were asking $750 - $1,000 depending on the configuration. All were unfired. Still stings to this day. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I glanced over a short barrel 44 mag BFR in order to get a three inch S&W model 30-1. I promise you I’d rather have that BFR right now. When I went back a week later after I realized what I did it was gone.

Big tulsa gun show 7 or 8 years ago, had an opportunity for a Dan Wesson 375 Supermag for 375.00. It was gone when I went back to get it 30 minutes later.

Was looking for a Ithaca 37 and stopped in a small shop with Dad and two brothers and he offered me a Belgian made Browning A5 for 250 bucks and slug barrels for 50 bucks . Before I got out of there he offered if bought 4 with the slug barrels he would give me the Fifth one free. Had the money in the bank but was going to buy a new truck! I loved that1975 F100….

Other than not having the foresight to purchase and hold as Taffin says...most of my regrets are with selling guns...like the Duane Wiebe takedown 500 Jeffery...various S&W K22's and model 45's (post office guns) from my collection but that funded Africa hunt...I have some regrets but most of those were to fund other trips, dreams, bucket list purchases, etc so in the end, I have very little to regret. I do enjoy reading these topics though!

Python Hunter for $1100
In school, so the money just wasn't there.
It's easy enough to say all the stuff that was cheaper back when. K-31s for $80, anything full auto, etc.
I have way more guns I wish I hadn't bought than ones I wish I had.

As dumb as this might sound, all the $75 to $150 Stratford and Bridgport-production Charter revolvers I took for granted.
Especially ones made of stainless steel and having 3" or 6" barrels.
44 Specials, 35s, 38, 32 Mags, 22 LRs,... Wish now I had the ones back I let slip away, because they were so easy to find and always at a bargain.

I can't think of any that really makes me kick myself today, other than a few factory guns that were "readily" available and no longer are, like a few Ruger revolvers (GP100 44sp 4451-5 I think is the model?) and a few of the RSI's that are now 3x the price of what they use to be. And of course the couple CZ550FS's I had in my hands in multiple calibers that I just passed on not "needing" them at the time.
A blackhawk collection from a gunshow of all calibers of the 4 5/8's in boxes for 1500.
Multiple different contender barrels...
Ugh.
I didn't need them anyways..
