He just always writes good, fact based information instead of opinions. We can always work out our own opinions, but I prefer to start with the facts.
No doubt the article revolved around the Ruger Midframe Flattop. But, good information on several guns.

I have enjoyed Handloader for many years, but I have transitioned to almost exclusively shooting sixguns. Handloader seems to have a lot more rifle data than I need or am interested in.
I really wish there was a Handgun Handloader.

In the world we live in today, I rejoice just to see an article on revolvers.
So, I really appreciate the application specific articles such as these.
The 45 Colt is really four different animals in different revolvers. It's a tremendous undertaking to develop loads for all four levels with so many new powders.

I very much appreciate the use of newer powders in his data. Or unique inclusions like H110 in .44Spl data. The sort of data that isn't just growing on trees.

I really need Handloader Magazine to let us buy single issues online. -Stan Last time I checked, single issues were available on line. Well, back issues anyway...

Mine arrived today, and I was really glad to see some loads with Accurate TCM, as I just purchased a case of that powder. Already loaded and tried some with XTP’s and lead SWC’s. First impressions were good in a 4” M25.
The load levels in this latest article will handle just about anything I ever need my handguns for. Another great and extremely useful article from Mr. Pearce.

Great article and information. Hopefully Brian will do some research with coated bullets in the future.

I have 3 of the levels and added 45 schofield since you shared his data on the 44 special. I was going to have a new cylinder made for my nmb but it shoots to good to spend the money.

You know, I have considered a 3rd cylinder (Schofield) for my NM .45 Convertible. Recently though, been noticing posts from member Bradshaw detailing his experience deep seating .45 Colt (& others) SWC cast bullets - with reduced charge weights of medium fast powder (231), for "light / accurate" loads. Lightly crimping just over the top of the top driving band. Although I haven't jumped off yet, it does sound intriguing. Kind of a reduced powder space, Schofield level load - with .45 Colt cylinder & brass. Definitely cheaper then a whole new cylinder...

RECEIVED MY ISSUE OF HANDLOADER, BEEN READING/REVIEWING THE 45 COLT ARTICLE. I WAS IMPRESSED BY LONGSHOT POWDER, SEEMED TO USUALLY BE "AT THE TOP OF THE CLASS" IN ACCURACY AND VELOCITY.
I WISH HE HAD USED SOME WLP PRIMERS, BUT MOSTLY HE USED NON-MAGNUM CC1 300's. NEED TO KEEP RE-REVIEWING THE LOAD DATA.
ONE MORE COMMENT, FOR THESE LEVEL LOADS WHY BOTHER WITH JACKETED BULLETS? SEEMS LIKE CAST IS THE WAY TO GO.
