Thank you all for your kind words. I'm hoping that this one will be easier than Cucuy Jr., who possesses the worst characteristics of both me and the Mrs. (I'll eat anything put in front of me and rarely sleep more than 5-6 hrs/day, my wife is a picky eater and "needs" 13 hrs/day ---> Cucuy Jr. doesn't sleep or eat). So far, the newbie sleeps and eats constantly with no fussin' in between. He slept the entire night last night!
As far as firearm purchases, I'm going to hold off for a bit for my gift (the post partum period can be a bit touchy...). For the family, I'm thinking of a .22 Single Six for all us boys in each of our model years (1971, 2006, 2009). I realized after going through my inventory that the only .22 wheelgun that I have is a Diamondback. Very sad indeed!

My son is now 15 years old and my best shootin' buddy. He seems to prefer the 1911 over any other handgun...probably because he shoots it so well. For his first handgun, I bought him a stainless Taurus .44 Special. When he is old enough, it will be signed over to him along with a couple of Ruger Blackhawks in .357 Mag. There are about 20 other handguns (so far!) that he will have to wait a little longer for...I hope.

My daughter started owning her own guns about 3 days before she was born, too bad I didn't know about the whole post partum thing then.

Congrat's, I agree with what others have said. It's time to start loadin' that safe with boxes with the li'l six-gunners name on them.
