For whatever reason I've always preferred the looks and balance of SA guns that the barrel ended at the end of the ejector rod housing...

Nice acquisition. I did what you set out to do and I purchased a NM Blackhawk 45 with only the ACP cylinder, and that's what it is. I'm looking for a 45 LC cylinder. I called Ruger about fitting a 45 LC cylinder to the weapon and CS said they weren't doing "optional" work at this time. That was amonth ago. What did Ruger tell you. Fermin reamed the cylinder mouths and made this ACP/SA a real nice shooter.

Have not heard anything definitive back but they didn't indicate the weren't doing them...maybe I misunderstood...

Fermin reamed the cylinder mouths and made this ACP/SA a real nice shooter. Try BCA. He had a couple when I was hunting an acp cylinder a month ago. You could also try Huntington or Reeder. I've gotten cylinders from both before.

One thing I do like about the .45 caliber SA guns, especially the 4.75" SAA, is with the loss of all that metal it just makes them balance so great.
I've got a .41 caliber SAA and it just doesn't move like the two .45s I had...
