We awoke to news of tornadoes yesterday. Wife was quite upset. An Uncle a bit S.W. of Lexington. Took a few hours to hear from him that all were ok and worst to their west.

At our camp in Elk Co Penn., still some trails blocks by trees down from tornado that just cleared our buildings and dropped into the woods and went about 200 yds.. Glad that was the last spot timbered, but many more trees there and on rest of property down from just the general high winds then. A wood cutting party to organize after all the hunting seasons are over. gotta get my Stihl 026 tuned.

I live 30 miles south of Louisville. One tornado came through about 4-5 miles from my house after midnight, no damage just some high wind. Looks like the death toll for the state could exceed 100.

Prayers for all who've lost or suffered from this. Let's hope the death toll is lower than expectations.

Mayfield Kentucky was completely wiped out, the aerial pictures were disheartening to say the very least...A much higher death toll is inevitable. My heart goes out to their community.

The Oklahoma Tornadoes of 1999 claimed 50 lives. I passed thru right after that. Was considered one of the worst natural disasters.
Afraid this one will be much worse. Looks like a Nuke Bomb went off.

Three locals were in Tennessee for a waterfowl hunt, a father and son were killed and the other man is still missing

As elders of the church, we met last night after services and approved sending relief money to Mayfield. It is about 80 miles North of us. some in our congregation have connection to churches in Mayfield.

Brother in AR said tornadoes far east of his location. Afterward I heard the news about Kentucky. Prayers for the families affected by the twisters there. Viewing some of the pictures about breaks my heart. The devastation and loss of life, horrible.

Our elders decided to send some financial aid as well, fortunately I believe they suffered no casualties and the buildings were not harmed but many members lost homes.

The news certainly isn't getting better. Lots of people still unaccounted for.
This just isn't going to end well. What a terrible way to spend the Christmas Season.
