Asa, problems with that approach. But, I tried it. Cases lengthen when necked down. Thing is, the don't all lengthen the exact same amount. You end up putting them thru the case trimmer twice... Don’t worry Huey I ain’t hatin for sure! If’n I had drill press I would be mighty inclined to use your method. Were I to ever do a lot of case cutting I would also probably give one of those EBay Jig/hobby chop saw jobs a whirl as well?

That’s framing quality! Where might something like this be found?

This is just the little Dremel Drill Press Attachment. Very inexpensive at Lowe's, etc.
Just attach your Dremel and go...

It's impressive for it's size. I've posted a lot about it's cast capabilities. But, it's also a very impressive jacketed bullet gun.
According to the loading manual it pushes a 110 grn to 2300+ fps and a 130 grn to 2100+ fps from a carbine barrel.

I have a Contender barrel in 30 Reece. Just picked up a set of dies from Hornady. I’m going g to use the method above to convert brass. Who has solid reloading data for 30 Reese?

Thanks for the bump
I forgot about this thread and method. Have a Dremel and the drill press already.
I don’t think my 7 Dragonfly requires trimming the 38 Special cases though.

Is this loaded to standard 55k+- like other rifle rounds?

Years ago, when I first got interested in the 30 Reece, I bought my dies and brass directly from Carson Reece. He also provided a spiral bound loading manual for all bullet weights and load/velocity data for three different barrel lengths. Obviously, I'd have to speculate on the pressures and I won't even attempt that. I can tell you I've loaded cases a dozen times now and never lost one.

That 357 to 30 has got to be easier on the brass than the 357 to 25. Has anyone tried using the #1 256 case forming die? When I finally get down to forming some brass I'll check and see what the #1 does.
