I have mild discomfort in my right hip/leg from what I assume is sciatica. I’ve never done anything about it and it seems come back when the weather goes cold. I absolutely can’t sit on my wallet for more than a minute while driving, it lets me know almost instantly.
This year around February/March was the worst. I couldn’t do the hiking I typically do during trout season at all. Once the weather turned it was gone. It came back briefly in October but went away

So sorry to hear of your suffering. Been dealing with back pain with surgeries since 94. Get yourself a mri to determine if it’s a herniated disc or spinal stenosis . Could be muscle spasms that will mimic the two I mentioned. But what your experiencing , it is going on to long for a spasm. Letting u know that the nerve that’s causing your pain that’s running down your leg into your big toe , also controls your bladder and if left long enough will cause drop foot. The longer u wait to have it surgically corrected the more damage you’ll cause to the nerve. Trying out patient spinal shots may help shrink the herniation. If you don’t receive any relief, surgery is the next option . As posted in the thread from one of the members u will receive instant relief when u awake from surgery. Also pain medication will only add to your misery if you take it for any length of time. Whatever you do please seek medical help and don’t try to tough it out. Good luck sir

Had a regular MRI and a high contrast MRI done on Monday. Tuesday got a call from the Doc.
Dr.: "Mr. Meyer we have the results from your MRI." Me: Great! What's the news? Dr.: Umm, you better come in. Are you currently taking any antibiotics or blood thinners?
Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Next Tuesday is my appointment.
My 11 year old asked if we were going hunting over the Thanksgiving holiday. I said probably not. He asked... Cause of your back? Yes. He said "Dont worry daddy. You put him on the ground and I will get him to the ice chest." At's my boy.

I covered a postpartum patient whose back pain throughout pregnancy was dismissed as, well, pregnancy. Got some imaging the day after her C section, and about 4 hours later neurosurgery had her on her belly getting her spine worked on. You feel lucky you caught it and cross your fingers your stitches hold. Hoping for good news, that is a problem that isn't dangerous and that has high success rates for treatment.
