I have a pinched nerve in my back and it is driving me bonkers with the pain. Besides doctor prescribed pain medication or a heating pad (I have been living on mine for the past few days), does anyone have a remedy that helped them? I am willing to try anything at this point. And my Dr.'s appointment is in a few hours, but throw it out if you have had something that really helped you.

Ibuprofen, and lots of it!
Aside from that, depends on what the doc finds.
Best of luck. This stuff hurts.

Not sure if this will help,, but I've been using a Tetter Hang-up inversion chair thingy for my back, I've been enjoying how my neck & back pop into place & how much better I feel afterwards. If the pinched nerve is due to something that could be "moved" into it's correct place,, maybe it'd help?

Gravity + blood pressure issues makes it feel like your head is gonna explode. But do try. Them mini TENS units help. Hot bath. Not at same time ! LOL.

Inversion Table and EMS for self help. A good, reputable chiropractor for outside help...
Been there...

A chiropractor once told me when I had a pinched nerve, there was little they could do. Mainly because it was like if your finger was in a door next to the hinge, it would do no good to close the door. The pain would be a lot worse with no benefit gained. I got more relief from message than anything else. The inversion would have been something I would have tried had it been available to me.

Stinging Nettle Root tea/capsules help reduce inflammation.
TENS unit helps.
Have not hung upside down, but I've heard of positive results.

At the risk of ruffling feathers, see a good physical therapist rather than a chiropractor (again, pending workup).
That is, unless you enjoy arterial dissections and strokes in which case a chiropractor has just the right prescription.

I have an inversion table and use it quite a bit (2 or 3 times a week).I got in it last night and didn't even hit a 45 degree angle and my body told me I made a mistake. Got back from the Doctor today and it is Siatica in my left leg, from my back to my toes. He prescribed lots of anti-inflamatory drugs and to rest it. Issue is, I cant lay in bed in any position, I cant stand more than about 3 minutes and I cant walk over 50 feet without a cane. I AM ONLY 44 YEARS OLD!! Even going #2 hurts like the blazes. Forget this getting old thing. I dont like it at all.

I had a degenerative disk that was causing sciatica, starting in my 20's , so age has nothing to do with it, in my case it was hard work and lifting wrong, coupled with being a thin built guy, no cushion to soften the shock my body goes through, I ended up doing steroid shots directly into the spine after my second one, it's been at least 10 years, and all us good, maybe a little discomfort when I really fatigue my body, but no more sciatica, which yes, will put you down, no matter how tough you are

I have had some back issues so bad I couldn't stand up out of office chair without help before. Been to ER, Chiropractor, etc.
Flared up again after getting married. Saw back specialist who recommended 1 to 3 injections and then surgery if that doesn't fix. My wife recommended against. She said too many are worse off after back surgery and to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. Instead, she prescribed some muscle relaxants and pain killers. It worked.

A good chiropractor might help you considerably for a while… depending on how bad your particular case is. I had a bulged disc pushing on things and mine helped for years. Look for one who is honest and uses proper imaging to diagnose your exact issue.

TREY, SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE TREATING THE SYMPTOMS AND NOT THE CAUSE (SOMETHING CROOKED/OUT OF PLACE, OR WORSE A HERNIATED DISC, OR?). I WOULD TRY INVERSION AND/OR A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR.
