It does not matter. Hard to get a "bad" lower these days. Pick the features you want.

I buy the cheapest lowers possible. The parts in it are what I spend good money on.

Oh, and make sure your FFL registers it as a receiver, not as a rifle or a pistol. That way you can legally build it how you want.

My preferred lower is by Aero Precision. They make lowers for many other companies including many high dollar gun companies. Very high quality and dimensions that are EXACTLY on spec. Their lowers have a tensioning screw that you can use to eliminate play between upper and lower receivers. They are the best I've found and are still very affordable....

I have no idea where he was at. I would still recommend registering it as a receiver in case he ever moves into a non communist state.

I would stay away from polymer and magnesium lower receivers. Both types have had cracking issues after use. Haven’t heard of anyone having issues with any of the bullet or forged lowers out there today. Back in 2015/2016 there were issues with out of spec lowers being produced in the last run on guns with that Presidential election.
Wish I could read. Congrats on the purchase of the Aero Precision. You’ll be happy with it. I haven’t had any issues with the ones that I own.

We have both AR15's and 10's with some pretty potent cartridges and nary a problem. That statement sure doesn't sound good for all the pistols out there with polymer frames. Don't fool with the magnisum so can't reply on that. The stuff is brittle I know that.

I've owned two polymer lowers, and that was two too many. Most of the issues is them trying to make them the same as metal ones, making them weak in certain places. Or just spiting down the middle like mine did. lol I have seen them with the front holes broken, or the whole back end where the extension screws in torn off though. Some feel a lower's a lower, as long as they're in spec same same. Having owned cheap one to VERY expensive ones, 50+ year old ones to current day ones, i don't agree. lol

Treated me well price wise during the pandemic on firearms. No inflated prices during the current shortages.

I have had excellent results in “assembling” of rifles with colt, FN, palmetto, aero and rock river. One brand I now shy away from is DS arms due to some issues with them
