A couple weeks ago ago, i mounted A Holosun HSS07C, on my 5.5 inch SS Bisley .41 mag.
I was a bit skeptical that the mount would hold up to the job. It only Uses one screw, And a block that fits into the block cut where the face of the factory rear sight used to be. I used some thread locker, And the Job took about 20 minutes.
I got to shoot it yesterday a bit, and so far so good. I put about 25 rounds down range. They were not full power loads, 250 grain Cast with 8.5 grains of unique.
And my groups were much better than i can shoot with iron sights.
I am no Elmer Keith. when it comes to shooting a revolver, But i am making steady progress.
I put most of my rounds in about a 2.5 inch group at 21 paces. I had a few flyers, and with the red dot it is easy to see when you flinch. That alone makes the Dot sight a use full tool.
I want to say something about the Sight its self. What a cool piece of Engineering. It is very light, And has an insane Battery life. This is accomplished by having an automatic shut off, and turn on based on movement.
So it shuts off when the gun is still for a little while, but turns on when you pick it up. And on top of the sight is a tiny solar panel that takes over from the battery when ever enough light hits it.
This thing is cool, I have one mounted on a Walther PDP, for home defense, And if i were to miss a man sized Target in side my home, then i guarantee god has great plans to reshape that lucky burglars life.
At this time I do not plan to mount any more on a revolver, just cause the one I have now will do whatever I need it to, although I might if money permits love to have a long slide 1911 10 MM with 2 slides Built , one with the Holosun and one with a Bomar type sight. (that would be fun for you hog hunters) and maybe one on a quality 22 for grouse hunting. I can not quite say the mount is great, because i really have not tested it with full power loads but so far good , But I am sold on the Holosun, I have never used another red dot so keep that in mind, and the price is right a 300.00 witch ain't cheap I might try something else on a 22 at some point, but this thing is great !...tj
