Would this be okay for a custom build? Haven't decided on the build yet but thought about acquiring this for a future build. Thanks. www.gunbroker.com/item/913165134

It’s a 2 digit prefix, that’s the best frame to start with

Depends on what you want to do.
I dont think the serial number is right for a 5 shot. Also Im pretty sure it has an alloy grip frame. They’re fine but dont finish up as nice as a steel one.
Other thing is that if you buy a 45 its going to stay a .45 pretty much the way it is. If you buy a smaller caliber you can have nice tight chambers and you’’ know the throats are right.
Its fine but be sure you know what you want to do as you can save and or be sure you get what you’re e after in the long run by buying smart.

I agree. 45 Rugers are hit and miss. I bought one to send to Andy Horvath. Thought I got a deal until I got it in hand. Cylinder throats were .456+. Had to find a cylinder to rechamber. Andy has had it a couple months now, hopefully take around 6-8 total but just have to be patient. Mine will have a S&W barrel on it when it comes back. Having guns worked on has become a madness for me.
