Ordered a bunch of ammo boxes to begin a much needed endeavor of organization. Picked out three sizes and quantities that ought to fill my needs. Thought perhaps each size might be visually distinguishable from one another to help with identification. It did say colors may vary, I took it as different shades from the pics. This is one of three boxes mixed with three sizes. Oh well, at least I have them and can start filling them! LOL!

Haha. Yeah, I would have thought at least one size would have been a different color.

I've been picking up storage containers from Home Depot and Harbor Freight with 16 to 20 slots for what it costs to buy one of those cartridge cases. I wait for specials and then load up on containers.
I have a full "library"(over 300 lots) of handloads that would cost a small fortune to inventory otherwise. Organization seems to be the key to finding anything later.

I will, was just expressing my amusement that when ordered, none of them were represented as this green.

I picked up a bunch of those green MTM ammo boxes from Natchez and MidSouth when they had them on sale... saved a BUNCH from what the others were charging.

It's been a while since I bought any ammo boxes. They appear to be a lot less expensive. I see the smaller ones around $2. Larger divided containers hold maybe 4 or 5 hundred, but are more expensive, $7. I got started doing the divided containers because of my style of handloading. I make small lots (12-24 rounds) for testing with combos of many powders/weights and many bullets/weights/styles for each caliber or even each gun. I like being able to say I know the best powder/weight and the best bullet for each gun. I've gone to designating one caliber per container which makes it easy testing in the field to find my different weights of powder for one bullet. The divided containers are available in lots of places. The size of each storage area in the container is best to match the caliber length. That way you get nice parallel fit for all your cartridges with no waste. I use many different manufacturers depending on the caliber, so I have lots of different styles. I use the search phrase "parts storage" or some modification on each site. You often see them used to divide small parts like screws or nuts/bolts. Example: www.harborfreight.com/search?q=parts%20storage Type in "Parts Strorage" and Search STOREHOUSE has multiple bins for $2.99 and $4.99. www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-SortMaster-15-Compartment-Small-Parts-Organizer-STST14027/205503742HDX has higher end, 2 for $14. Stanleys aren't bad either. Prescut
