Today I saw a .32 Single Six that was blue with a 5.5” barrel . It was tagged as NIB but this one had a dull silver grip frame . Was this a factory option ? Thanks in advance.

Possibly...
Think some in the end was assembled from left over parts. Know that was the case with Bisley Single Sixes.

I wasn't able to find anything showing any of that model having shipped with such a grip frame. But,, a g/f is an easy swap out.

If it is in fact "in the box" the box will have an end tag . That will show an as shipped model number. Guessing someone wanted the grip frame (maybe a Bisley ) and swapped the parts . Then the donor got sold.

I've seen folks sand the black paint off the aluminum grip frames when they get all scratched up

Pretty sure you're supposed to buy it first, and research it later.
Or is that just me?

Any of these suggestions are possible and none are certain. I've just learned never to say never where Ruger is concerned...
