Can one assume that all Rodeos are “all American”?
If “sort of”, which calibers might be included.

That would be a wrong assumption Sir. Early Rodeos utilized foreign parts if I am not mistaken. Unfortunately I do not have the approximate serial number change over point.

Ten Ring Precision (Alex Hamilton) has a pretty good breakdown.
It gets much more complicated than just serial numbers but for the most part you can use them to tell whether or not Italian parts but NO guarantees.

There are differences such as firing pin shape and a particular configuration in the loading gate bottom for example. That said, remember Hamilton did his #5 revolver on the front of his book using US Patent Firearms components. The gun below is an early Rodeo with some European parts and it doesn't bug me in the least. Even the hammer is a Pieta Pony Express part from VTI that I had Alan Harton fit to it.

Pretty sure the break was in the C or D prefix range.
Edited to add: Alex Hamilton says A and B prefix have Italian parts. Pretty sure Gary Granger, USFA Sales/Service manager, told me the change over was completed in the C range and the D range guns are all us made

Alex tuned and installed internal trigger stops in the flat top target bisley USFAs I bought from him.
He’s another of the old time gunsmiths that have forgotten more than most will ever know.

How about a Rodeo II with L2xx for a number?

How about a Rodeo II with L2xx for a number? I recall Gary saying on the CASCity forum that all Rodeo IIs were US parts guns.

They really missed out not calling the Rodeo II the ‘Not Our First Rodeo’. It’s a long roll mark, but worth it.

When I read that, the little voice in my had said, "Good idea, wish I had thought of that!". I could even see someone shooting it while listening to Vern Gosdin.
