any issues converting a stainless Single Seven in 327 into a 6 shot 40 S&W??? I have a stainless S&W 10mm Barrel I got a while back... that I was hoping to graft on to a Ruger... the Single Sevens seem the most common stainless centerfire option, with adjustable sights, & at reasonable prices, & availability... I still have yet to buy one... but it's on my list... any issues I may not have thought about??? & suggestions for a builder???

FlyingZebra built a 10mm Single Six, but I believe it was a five-holer.

Ironically I’m having a custom 40 S&W Blackhawk converted to 38-40.

Regarding single action revolvers, if you heart craves a 40 caliber the proper answer is a 38 WCF.
Just sayin', Dave

Are you guys converting RF to CF or just using 32 caliber single-sixes? Rimfire to central fire conversion is possible and it is costly.

I forget... but, was thinking it was a 3" ... I had the knife in my pocket, & it's 3.25" long, so the barrel from from muzzle to forcing cone looks like it's 3.75"... to me, it looks long at the threads & forcing cone, for a single action, so may need some trimming there... ... & I do like shorter barrels

Did I misunderstand?

no... I just hadn't measured them... was hoping the threaded part was same size or bigger to get rethreaded... if that has to come off, then it's 2-2.5" of barrel with new threads
not actually sure what all has to be done, when putting a double action barrel on a single action revolver... was hoping the "single" series had a smaller barrel thread, than the "blackhawk" family???

A single six is practically a no go with that barrel due to its diameter and the width of the rib. You would need a K frame barrel for it to be fit to a single six and I don’t think a k frame barrel is big enough to rebore to a 10mm.
Been wrong before but….
