I sold my FA 454 and now I have a plethora of handloaded ammo. What do you feel is the easiest(quickest) way to pull these? I know I should have shot them before I sold the gun, but didn't. I have an inertia puller and a press mounted puller.

In my experience, a press mounted puller is considerably faster, but an inertia puller is much easier on the bullets.

The inertia puller works well with heavy bullets. I put a foam ear plug in the bottom of mine, so it doesn't damage the noses of the bullets.

How many times do you "get" to do that?

That's ok. Just take my time. Sell the bullets and brass once I'm done. All brass is primed with 7 1/2 primers.

The inertia will be fine. Maybe shove a piece of paper towel in bottom. That’s the only weight I’ll do anymore with them. I did some 270 WSM one time. Bullet was so light……..the primer popped rather than the bullet dropped. Not cool!!!!! It didn’t light the powder column but made me never want to use that damn green hammer again!

Press mounted puller is the only way to go, crimp on .454 is substantial. Collet puller won’t mar up jacketed bullets much but is harder on cast. You could seat cast bullets a few hundredths deeper first to loosen the crimp.
