Does anyone have a 401 chamber reamer they’d consider selling or renting. I’m thinking about adding a 401 cylinder to my Buckeye. Thanks.

I’ve got a Herters 401 and ever since I got the Buckeye, I’ve wanted to do a 401 cylinder for it. I just picked up a new model 357 cylinder for the conversion.

Are you going to have to set the barrel back? Asa, I was curious about this too. The 357/9mm Cylinders are way short. Would have to shorten the other cylinders and set the barrel back. Wouldn't be my choice for the 38-40 Cylinder...

Don't have a Buckeye to compare to, but I know the newer stainless 10mm Blackhawks and the 38-40 & 40S&W Vaqueros have cylinder lengths between the 357 and 44-45's?

Looks like I might be having to shorten the 38/40 and 10mm cylinders or look for a 10mm cylinder to rechamber. The 357 cylinder is .029 shorter than the 38-40 cylinder.

Keep an eye out for 30 carbine cylinders as well I believe they are longer and can still be reamed out. With prices these days, having one made may not be too terrible of an option?

Thanks. I didn’t think about the 30 Carbine.

Anyone have a 30 Carbine cylinder they’re anxious to get rid of?

Or you could talk to Gary Reeder about the 401GNR and not have to deal with the 401PM brass issue. Just an option.
