I recently read an article about a gun vise by Real Avid. After fighting with a normal vise with wooden jaw inserts I decided to order the vise and boy am I glad I did. Talk about slicker than snot on a door knob! I'll need to order one of Ronnie's grip frames just to have a "break it in project". I had been in line for another brand of vise for months but they never seemed to get more available so I switched gears and grabbed this one. I think I will be glad I did.

The last one of Ronnies grip frames I fit was done using wooden inserts in my bench vise. Far from convenient or handy. This should make jobs like frame fitting and hammer mods like fitting a bisley hammer to a XR-3 RED much easier.

That is a pretty sweet vise. I may have to pull the trigger on one of those myself.

Are the main vise jaws made of metal or are they plastic? How about the rest of the vise?

Main components metal with two sided jaw covers that slip over the jaws and pin in place.
