Out of the past three Blackhawks I have bought, I have ended up with 4 screwed up cylinders! The first is an old model 357. The previous owner had apparently tried to enlarge the throats. All were roughly gouged, one was .360"+. Fermin hooked me up with another cylinder with proper .3585" throats. After lapping out the barrel thread constriction, that gun shoots way better than I can. I've gotten sub 3" 50yd groups from several loads. That's the best I can shoot period. Next is my Maximum. A .357" minus pin guage barely squeezes into 5 throats and a .356" just will in the sixth. That's going to Fermin to open up. Then there's my 45. All throats are at least .455"-.456" in the Colt cylinder, but a .451" pin won't go into any throat on the acp one. A call to Fermin and he's got me a nice proper throated colt cylinder and will be opening up the acp. I use his front sights and won't tolerate an incorrect cylinder while he's around.

Ol Fermin is a good guy and knows his stuff. We are lucky to have him around.

Between Fermin and Ronnie we are living in the golden age of kitchen table custom revolvers.

I hope to meet Mr Garza one day. I believe he lives just across the bay from me.
