I have a Leupold RX1200 that I have had for the past decade. Serves me well for what I do.
Just bought my Grandson a Bushnell, it works.
They all are effective, just how deep your pockets are.

I like what I'm hearing about Vortex.

My experience with vortex is you WILL need to use the warranty. Haven't owned one of their products yet that didn't need to be sent back. Warranty doesn't do you any good if you're on a hunt and it quits......
For that reason I quit buying their stuff.

Zeus, that is my experience as well, I always recommend the Razor line to anyone looking at Vortex, the other lines I’ve personally seen issues as bad as catastrophic failures of the outer tube.

Never had anything from the razor line. I have tried some of the spotters in the razor line but they weren't for me.

Never had anything from the razor line. I have tried some of the spotters in the razor line but they weren't for me. Gotcha The newest version of the razor HD spotter is impressive. I have $4500 Hensoldt and we also use various Swaro versions. This newest version with the reticle eyepiece is extremely bright and clear. I watched a couple dozen new ones arrive on the line this season shooting the two mile matches. The older version I would agree was not as impressive. They are doing something right these days for sure

The glass was fine, but I cannot get used to no eye relief. Its like looking through a straw. Have the same issues with Swaro spotters. By the time I get a full field of view I'm pretty much touching the scope and then it wiggles! That doesn't work. I know part of the issue is I'm carrying a dinky tripod and not a huge clunker. But I'm normally hunting out of a backpack and don't want to carry the 4-6# tripod!

Rick, a good monopod in conjunction with your pack works wonders for stability. I stopped carrying a tripod in the field after seeing how well a good monopod works.
