Starting this thread as the first of five new Clements' Guns. This is the five shot 44-40 built on a Midframe Flattop Bisley.
More after Tim posts the pictures...

Thanks Tim!!!
As you can see, this is an extremely strong gun. The outside cylinder wall thickness is .108". It's the weakest area on this cylinder.
Many discount the Midframe Flattops as weaker than the Blackhawk. No doubt it is, but the Midframe in 44-40 has much more steel than a Blackhawk in their usual 5-Shot configuration.
Cylinder length is 1.695" which is plenty enough for the 44-40 WCF.
This is destined to become Revolver #1...

They are some type of Maple built by Bear Paw Grips. They fit the base gun so well, I put them back for this project. They are probably going to be loved by some and hated by some. I really like them and plan on leaving them on the gun.
This is my most extensive build to date. Everything about this gun is custom. We literally couldn't think of anything else Clements could do to the gun.
We discussed CCH, but that's outsourced and I didn't want it anyways.
I've already been asked about the lack of the Clements Rear Cylinder Bushing. Since this is a custom cylinder, it doesn't suffer from the imperfections of mass produced ones. Notice the ratchet teeth are very wide and smooth. The frame is trued before the cylinder is fitted. In this case it would actually take away from the build.
I'll also add that this gun includes a taller front sight for shooting heavy bullets. I don't think it'll be needed, but Clements does things right!!!

Some close-ups of the grips. Some fine wood on a fine five-gun:

Nice revolver. I Might have had a couple things done differently but not much. Thats why we have customs built…just like we like them.
Huey is right about the strength of the 5 shot oversized cylinders in these guns. The 5 shot 45 Colt in this platform will handle the Ruger only loads typically reserved for full sized Blackhawks.
BTW, I like the grips.

I have a pair of Bear paw grips made from what I believe to be the same kind of wood. He called it blackline spalted maple. My set looks good, but those look great.

I've got a 5-Shot 480 Ruger built on a Midframe Flattop. It takes full power loads in stride.
This gun is stronger than the 480 Ruger. The cylinder of the 44-40 isn't quite as large, but walls are thicker. Also, more steel left in the frame due to the smaller cylinder.
This thing will handle more than it'll ever get fed.
Greg, thanks much. Feel free to post what you'd do differently. I always learn from the guys on here. Would be interesting to hear other's ideas...

This is Blackline Spalted Maple, but not sure of the specific type of Maple. The "Blackline" is caused from a fungus, but that's all I know about them.
