I like the stag better on that gun Axe. Save the Bisley for something 41 cal or larger. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Guess it will match the elk stags that Bill Peterson is doing for my stainless FT 44 Special... ;D

It sure must be nice to be Axe. He's got a beautiful set of Sambar Stags just sitting in his parts box. I wonder what else he's got in there ? ;D

Sort of makes one wonder what other kinds of treasures are hidden deep in the recesses of his gun safes. I've always figured he had some sort of industrial warehouse sort of safe complete with lift trucks, etc. ;D

Ha! Robb and Fermin are the parts hounds.... Those specific Stags were the side effect of a trade.. Old buddy had a 4 5/8 3 screw the he wanted to trade me real bad... He found the Stags and offered the gun with them AND the original grips... I felt like I was pretty flush with 3 screw Blackhawks at that moment in time and just did not want it.... It fell into my lap as part of another trade.. It turned out to be a fine little well cared for piece. The gun's serial number is listed in RENE as the highest known serial number BH of its group... One of the Ruger guys even said it was on the convertible list... ;D

Darn, Axe! I ran into Raj last week in Arizona, and he was asking whether I had Sambar stag grips on any of my guns...I said not yet...ohhhhhh, that looks good!

Michael, you might call John Gallagher if you want a set of Ajax Sambar stags. I just sent him a set of them along with a OA grip frame and a Clements wide OM trigger earlier this week in trade for doing some work on a different toy for me.
Just a thought.
Oh yes, don't believe Axe on the parts thing. I have gotten rid of almost every spare cool part I had stashed. A good portion of the parts headed to Axe's house and the far north.

The parts are here? Cylinders, barrels, grip frames, hammers, triggers,..... Whoa! So that is where all that stuff in my parts box came from! ;D
FWIW I have Sack Peterson making a set of elk stags for my TALO SS FT 44... Kind of looking like I may tag him for a couple of sets for the consecutive serial number Lipsey's 4 5/8 FT Bisley 44s now...
We have a local guy (Up around Chattanooga) who does stag that I have been pointed to. He has a web site and sells a lot on GB... Don't have the link on this PC. I may try him out and report soon..

Trying to get the .327 off to Dave Clements tomorrow...he wants to see the gun before we finalize the mods to be made. I suspect there's at least a shorter barrel, Bowen rear sights, a new front sight, and custom grips in its future. I'm probably going to have Dave beadblast the gun, maybe leave the cylinder bright stainless...I saw a setup like that I really liked. Got the Dillon all stoked up to start cranking out .327s with Cast Performance 113-grainers.

I have a Spresser ivory set for the NAA mini. Eh. Had a problem with the grips, wrote to him, and he didn't care. I still haven't gotten around to fitting them... he put a sponge rubber backing on the grips: it held up for about 3 rounds before it rolled up and peeled off. He takes the "don't shoot the gun with grips installed" seriously. I won't buy another set from him.
