Well, I got the long awaited email from Dave Clements. It seems my 41 Special is finished!!!
The base gun was a Ruger 3-Screw 357 Magnum. Just about the perfect size for a 41 or 44 Special.
The package was Dave's full conversion. Included in the package, I got to pick a 6" Tapered Barrel and TLA Style Front Sight (Pinned).
Other options are: 1) White Outline Rear Sight 2) #5 Base Pin 3) Crescent Ejector Rod 4) Clements' Rear Cylinder Bushing 5) High Polished Finish 6) Clements' Last OM Bisley Hammer
As soon as the gun arrives home I'll post a range report.

Huey that looks great!! What load(s) are you planning to try out first? Thanks Joe and glad you asked... For some reason, I've developed an attraction to some of the new powders. There are several which provide almost Magnum performance with a much smaller charge. Longshot will be my first effort. It's just about perfect for the case size. Silhouette, CFE Pistol, Power Pistol and a couple others seem ideal. I'd backordered a bulk amount of the GT 115 HP. After six months, they arrived last week. I believe 1200 fps will be quite easy with several of these powders. Anything that works in the 10mm Auto seems to be ideal for the 41 Special. I measured case capacity of the 41 Special and 10mm Magnum, they are identical. My two old standby powders, 2400 and Unique, will be tried. But, 2400 will be the slowest and probably won't be used to a big extent. Lucky for me, Brian Pearce has provided his usual excellent writing on the 41 Special. John Taffin has too. I have all their data (EXPERIENCE) printed out and ready...

What is the rear bushing about?

What is the rear cylinder bushing? As far as I know, Clements originated the rear cylinder bushing. But, as always, I could be wrong. It is placed in the center of the ratchet and serves several functions. It's cut to match the base pin for cylinder stability. Also, it keeps the cylinder from changing alignment as the cylinder rotates and rest on the teeth of the ratchet. Last, it pretty much eliminated ratchet and frame wear. A picture of it can be seen in my Clements 44 Special Thread... singleactions.proboards.com/thread/28111/clements-customized-44-special

Looking forward to your results! I've got a little experience with Longshot and Power Pistol. Both made great light magnum power level loads for me in 45 Colt(LS) and 44 Mag (PP).

Looking forward to your results! I've got a little experience with Longshot and Power Pistol. Both made great light magnum power level loads for me in 45 Colt(LS) and 44 Mag (PP). I have too. I noticed that the ES went way down and accuracy went up dramatically with bullets that seat deeper in the case. That's what pointed my to the shorter case. I'll report here when I start working up loads...
