We all jump home up and down about how solidly our Ransom Rest is mounted. Commonly seen in concrete platforms with no movement outside of the rotation of the earth and the Milky Way wandering through the cosmos. Our custom built paper punchers routinely expected to be 50 yard X ring guns. You guys see that there are Ransom Rest grip inserts for Glocks? ransomrest.com/home/grip-inserts/

Had one glock 10mm put a after market barrel and red dot on it but that dang trigger sucked. Never could get consistent groups plus it was ugly. I traded it off for a rifle for the wife. Now my 610 is a keeper pretty and a good trigger.

I don’t know if it’s the sights or the trigger but I have a model 40 10mm that I could barely knock down half scale pigs at 50yds. If I didn’t see dirt flying I’d have thought I was shooting blanks.
I would fair better with any of my revolvers except maybe the little J frames.

My Glock 40 10mm bone stock with a RMR, will shoot 4" at 50yd. Loaded with my hand loads consisting of 180gr XTP over a stiff charge of No.7 CCI magnum SPP in ☆- cases.
I'm considering carrying that gun deer hunting here in Ohio this year.

Bought and carry my G20 for 25 meters and in. Looks like it’ll shoot a might further - which is pretty cool.
Not for nothing, but I feel like people complaining about 50+yard accuracy from their Glocks would complain that their Honda Accord can’t pull a horse trailer in the snow.
That said, I’ll go way against the grain here and say this: The Glock trigger doesn’t suck. It’s different. And, like anything different, you need to practice with it to get good with it. What a lot of striker-fired shooters I know say about double-action revolvers? The trigger sucks. It obviously doesn’t - it’s just different. If you put the time in with a Glock - it’ll exceed your expectations. If you don’t put the time in - it’ll do exactly what it was designed to do.

Long ago, i shot a whole lot more, was in much better physical shape, and Glocks were my main centerfire handguns. I rabbit hunted with a 19 just for kicks and nailed two while my shotgun toting companions never got any. I also nailed a skunk waddling away at about 60 yards in a hay field with a 26 while standing on a 4 wheeler. Those days are gone for me. I doubt if anyone entering a target contest would choose a Glock; but most Glocks are probably more accurate than most can shoot them. I still have four; but seldom carry any of them now.

I used to know a police chief / swat member / firearms instructor / ccw instructor who was a heck of a shot. He was a 1911 fan; but he personally switched from a 1911 to a Glock 17 and mandated his entire dept switch due to jams in officers' poorly maintained 1911s. He literally dry fired his glock for hours to master the trigger and became a heck of a shot with it too.

My accuracy interest would run more toward the aftermarket barrels from makers like Wolf, Barsto and KKM. Of course it is nice to see what the stock barrels are capable of. My real fear is that the aftermarket barrels don't really offer any significant accuracy advantage over the stock barrels.

I have several Glocks I would like to know what would do in a Ransom Rest. One of the scoped ones would do 2" at 100 yards so I am guessing maybe 1.5" from the rest? One of them (a 45 Super) from sandbags on a bench put a whole magazine through 1" at 40 yards measured with a laser. They can really shoot but need tender loving care to get to that point.

Well, the trigger issue may have been solved. See Timney now offering a trigger.
