Hi folks,
I’ve got a 2 digit prefix Ruger Vaquero I am thinking about sending in and having some work done to it: re-barrel, sights, action/trigger job etc.
I was wondering if any of you could post pics of any Vaqueros that ya’ll have had done to give me some different ideas than what I was thinking of.
Thanks hunter966

No particular reason, it’s got a 4 5/8” on it but I seem to shoot the 5 1/2” barrels a little better.
I’m not opposed to keeping the barrel it’s got now but it definitely needs an action/trigger job done to it.

Here’s a large framed Vaquero built by Ben Forkin. Chambered in .45 Colt, it has S&W style rear sight, octagon barrel and Roy Fishpaw musk ox grips. Tim

And here’s a couple more. Top is a 500 Linebaugh built by John Gallagher. Scalloped frame, short barrel and a reshaped grip frame more like a birdshead. The bottom is a mostly stock, well worn .45 Colt Vaquero with a few touches - Bisley hammer, black powder chamfer, free spin modification, trigger stop and lots of carry time. Tim

Can’t say I would want to touch off a max loaded 500 Linebaugh with that grip, not much to hold on to but those are beautiful revolvers.

Those are some really nice pistols fellas. How do you like the rear sights as far as being in the way or snagging on things?

Neat to know where they live! Custom Vaqueros might be the best looking single actions out there.
