In my earlier thread I said I had purchased a 45 Ruger 4 5/8s Blued from a shop in ND. No 45 Colt cylinder only the ACP cylinder. It arrived right on time and here is a pic. No turn line, bluing is good except a light spot at the barrel. Hogue micarta grips, action has been smoothed not lightened. That is the good. The rest typically Ruger. The bad: only one thing the cylinder charge holes are verrry undersized. I cannot push a 451 Speer Gold Dot bullet through any of the six charge holes with finger pressure. The Good, it's fixable. The cylinder leaves today for Fermin Garza's house.

That should make a nice plinker and won’t cost too much to feed it either.

Much better too small than too big (easier to fix !).
I really like my 45 acp Vaquero, this first single action I ever bought. I had to open the throats on it also.

Very cool. I really like Ruger .45 Blackhawks.
38 prefix? If so, that started life as a .357.

Ruger website says it was made in 2016 and it was created as a 45 Convertible. The last three of the serial # is scribed on the face of the cylinder.
I bought this Ruger to burn up excess +P ACP rounds that I have acquired over the years.
Does anybody remember the mold that Elmer used in his 45 AR loads. Would like to have a few of that bullet for when I run out of 45ACP traditional bullet configurations.

I just looked at their serial number history for the .45 Blackhawk, and, by golly, they did!

I BELIEVE REED'S AMUNITION IN OKLAHOMA SELLS A 240gr CAST BULLET FOR THE 45AR. NEED TO LOOK IN MY AMMO VAULT, I THINK I HAVE SOME OF HIS AMMO WITH THAT BULLET.

I recently bought a 45 Blackhawk with both cylinders, Fermin worked his magic and corrected both. I had to fire lap mine due to barrel constriction at the frame. I was rewarded with the best group I ever shot with a bigbore revolver. Best Glen

Seems most Rugers need a little love here and there. The good thing is they are fantastic for the price once you get them sorted out.
