I had a set I got for my Blackhawk .44. They fit great and looked great. I was very pleased with them. They are durable as hell too.

Copied from the page.
“Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips are manufactured out of our high-grade, high density ivory material designed from the beginning as a premium, high-strength grip material,” he said via email.
In a subsequent telephone conversation, Rand noted that Magna-Tusk grips are “just like real ivory” in that no two are exactly alike.
“The reason we developed Magna-Tusk,” he recalled, “we used to sell bonded ivory like everybody else—imitation ivory.”
But he experienced less-than-satisfactory results with that material, and set about finding something better. What developed is something beyond typical “imitation ivory” and they call it “Magna-Tusk.” It is described, in Arizona Custom Grips literature, as being “capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials.”

I bought a set of magna tusk bisley grips a few years ago. They were high quality and durable, but the novelty wore off, and they just looked more and more like plastic every time I looked at them.

I bought the SAA stag from them. The white was too white and the black too black. They didn't look like stags.
I roughed them up and used a touch of acetone to weaken the colors. They looked a lot better, but not like real stags.
I think I chose poorly for the stags. Their other designs look much better and more realistic. And they are tough. I think I might try the Magna Tusk Ivory. I can't imagine how folks still use real Elephant Ivory.

I bought a couple sets of the Magna-Tusk Ivory Grips. One set for my Ruger 50th Anniversary 44 Magnum and the other for a Uberti P 45 Colt. Both sets look, feel and fit perfectly.

I bought two sets- for a Uberti Stallion birds head I got the two piece antique Ivory with checkering, and for a Uberti Bad Boy .44 I got the plain ivory. Of the two, the birds head grips fit better. The Bad boy's are one piece and no matter how I positioned them one edge has a little hangover. Don't get me wrong, they look real nice but aren't perfect. I could sand them down but then I'd have to re polish them to a smooth finish and I doubt I have the skills to get it right. Over all, I'd recommend the two piece grips as better fitments. They seem tough and I think they're stronger than real ivory.

They have seen grits and you can match the finish perfectly.

They have seen grits and you can match the finish perfectly. Thanks, I may try that. Since it was going to be there I let the excess hang over on the inside curve rather than the back strap part. You have to look critically to notice it. I had to sand away a small bit on the front, where the grips meet the frame near the hammer to get the back strap part perfect. A little sanding, just a minute or two. The Bad Boy has a large grip frame, like an 1858. The stock uberti grips swell out at the bottom and I like them to be narrower. The Az Custom ones are slim down there. They shoot great for me. Thanks again.

Wow, very good write up. I had never seen that before. When was that made?
