Liked the one I put on my 500 JRH BFR revolver so much, that I just received my 2nd one... you need to get 34mm Rings, and the Butler Creek flip open scope caps are the #10 38.5mm & the #14 40.8mm the sight comes with rings, but those are too tall, as they are intended for carbine use... so I buy regular high rings in 34mm Factory mount included with the sight...

Good job mounting the optic! Can you tell us more about what you prefer about it specifically?

it's automatic on & off ( & actually works when I need it, & I can't forget to shut it off ) I'm still on my 1st battery... it has a solid build feel ( it is heavier than most, but the calibers I'm mounting it on, that's not really a detriment ) ... I have several reflex & tube red dots, & this one is really confidence inspiring in how it feels... it has a bigger tube than most, so a slightly bigger field of view... of course the Leupold lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either...

That's a very nice & rugged looking scope & mount, I like it! Should never rattle that one loose.

I just got 2 of the Leupold Freedom 20mm bell scopes for shortie No. 1 rifles. Pretty impressive for the $$.

It looks like a tidy, sturdy set up. Luck ! Am sitting on an Ultra Dot and thinking of best application here. MWM, you just got me to consider the 4 5/8" BSBH 480. How will you pack that thumper ?

WHY THE BUTLER LENS CAPS?
BTW, LEUPOLD REPLACED THE VX-1 AND VX-2 LINES WITH THE FREEDOM LINE, I GOOGLED AND FOUND THAT IMPROVED PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES ALLOWED THEM TO PRODUCE VX-II QUALITY AT VX-I PRICES, SO I AM THINKING THAT THE FREEDOM LINE IS PROBABLY A REALLY GOOD DEAL.

Nice looking set up, thinking of putting an optic on SS Bisley .41 mag, Does that base require any new holes ?

That base is what comes with the BFR’s… so they fit perfectly… Rugers more of a challenge

Lens caps for rain, and I was asked a while back about caps for this scope, so I went and figured out what works
Steve… I have a nylon chest holster right now for super 14 Contenders… that the BFR’s fit into… will be looking for leather that both BFRs fit into, after the 10” Barrel on the 45-70 gets trimmed down

Evolution Gun works has a Base to attach a optic to a Ruger revolver. Not terribly expensive, either, No drilling required, I am thinking of getting on for a Bisley .41 mag. I have a Holoson Sight on a Walther PDP Compact, I like a bunch. It has a solar panel and the battery life is amazing. I think I will order the base. In fact I will order it. Now, My eye sight is not likely to improve till I get cataract surgery. ...tj
