Wonder what it will bring, this time? Far more than I could ever afford, but tremendously less than what she truly deserves.

Exactly used customs bring pennies on the dollar and I’m pretty sure this one has been refinished

I posted on this forum right after the sale; I don't know whether I'm more surprised that it brought $75,000 or to be surprised it could be bought for that. I think there were fees on top of that and that money was worth a lot more than today. This is just my random thoughts and worth what you paid for them...........

Last time it sold it was for $80500 inclusive of the buyers premium. I'm wondering if selling buy itself rather than along side the rest of Elmer's guns will help it or hurt it. RIA will also collect sales tax on this gun at the time of sale this time around. www.morphyauctions.com/jamesdjulia/item/1005-373/

Who bought it last time? Or is it a secret? Brian Pearce got the "Long Range Colt" that once belonged to TR.......
The one I lusted for was the .44spl S&W Keith wore every day all those years after moving to town [before the .44 Magnum put it on the shelf.......

Don't believe the new owner ever came forward. I'm pretty sure Pearce got several of Elmer's 44 specials. There were some good deals to be had there but you had to look for them. I tried to buy Elmer's new frontier and gave up when it got to $4000. It ended up selling for $6900. I ended up getting something that in the end I was much happier with. Just wish I had more $$$ at the time.

Seems like I read the original owner had the gun refinished a few times himself along with have the ivories changed after the first ones shrunk so much. Being refinished won’t bother me at all on this gun.

That's the top gun of all custom single actions. Considering the tooling and welding tech Sedgley had back in the 1920s it's an absolute master piece. Every smith who works on them since owes tribute to him. That was creative, out of the box thinking.
