Forgive my tardiness to my other thread, I finally have the correct information out of my manuals. It's only a small library of military and professional manuals so grabbing the wrong volume isn't hard. Here is the list...

Strange that they consider the PMC 170gr at 1329fps as low impulse,

I would love to find some of that Winchester 175 grain high impulse ammo for my carbine.

Yeah, I can wait a little for a dollar a round. And I probably will never see the brass again anyway unless I am shooting out of a truck window.

I also just realized no one offers a jacketed soft point. I would think with all the carbines being made that would be a dandy "do all" ranch load. Something 180 or 190 grains sounds about right to me.

Something 180 or 190 grains sounds about right to me. Federal offered a 180 gr. JSP Trophy Bonded Bear Claw round that clocked +1300 fps from my 10mm 1911s. I killed a buck and a coyote with the round and was pleased with it's performance. I got the impression it has a very tough jacket. They may be discontinued and are not available anywhere I've looked. I saved 15 rounds for special occasions.

I have a decent supply of the old Winchester Silver Tip 175 grain and Federal Hydrashok. Believe it or not, they were both issued by the Customs Service. That's where this ammo stash came from.
