Nice find. I wouldn't hesitate if I came across one. I do have the 3 1/8", 18 oz Mountain Lite version of the 396. Bought it in 2003. They can be quite frisky depending upon the load. Not recommended because of the thin barrel extension, but shooting the Keith Load (2400/250gr Keith) is an experience to be remembered (curious minds had to know) -- DON'T TRY THIS!. The picture is of a 386 Mtn Lite (.357 Mag twin to the 396 .44 special). Shown above a 3 1/2" round butt FA97 .45 Colt Enjoy. Paul

Taffin, what is the fourth image?? Looks to be SW custom. Matte finish, high polish cylinder, Tyler T grip, I enlarged and saw it is a Taurus, and also Oglesby name, is it an Oglesby custom?? Trapr

Nice find! Agreed that the recoil can be a bit of a handful. Mine suffered from light primer strikes that was easily solved with a C&S extended firing pin. CJ
