I picked up a SRH, with the intention of replacing the barrel and having the “snout” removed and made into what Bowen calls a GP-44 configuration. I know Anaconda barrels have been done, as well as factory Redhawk barrels. I am also aware that SW barrels have been done on Ruger SA’s, but does anyone know if a SW barrel can be done on a Redhawk or SRH??? Anyone got pics of such an animal??? What I’m aiming towards is a 5.5” or 5” SRH, I’ve got a 7.5” 45 colt Redhawk barrel and can get it cut, recrowned, and new front sight done. I’ve also got a Redhawk 44 5.5” barrel that could possibly be rebore to .452 however it’s my understanding they are poor candidates for reboring. I’ve also got a SW 25 barrel that could be used if it will work,.....I’m trying to avoid simply having a custom barrel made, but it may come to that. The gun is a 454 7.5” and I’m wanting something for easy holster wearing and still good sufficient barrel for outright hunting, so 5.5” seems most feasible.
if anyone has pics of a SW barreled Redhawk or SRH please post away.

I do like the look, but I’m betting it’s an oversize barrel compared to a standard SW barrel, only because they refer to it as a SW “pattern”. I guess I need to peruse the Bowen gallery some more I’ve never seen both the first and third guns before. Thanks Doug.

All I've ever seen are the Redhawk, Anaconda and Dan Wesson barrel conversions. I know the "bolt circle is the same between the Redhawk and N-frame, so it might work.

I am looking at putting a Redhawk in Bowens que for a similar outcome. I called and spoke to Bowen the other day about the project. The Anaconda barrels require nipping off the existing threads and cutting a new set since the redhawk shank is larger. That means it requires a longer than desired barrel. I was looking for a 4" barrel to install but it will require a 6" donor. Ultimately I want mine like the one towards the bottom of the page link above.

I think a 4" Anaconda barrel would be a really neat package.

I think a 4" Anaconda barrel would be a really neat package. The 3 stainless versions are the direction I want to go. Although the Reeder version looks sexy too (minus all the gold and engraving).

Kevshell the other issue is that the barrel needs to be shortened correctly to line up the slots or vents in the barrel, so you actually lose about 1.75” of barrel.

Kevshell whose is the one with the ivories? I have no idea. I start searching on Google images sometimes and don't get the owner or maker. Maybe it's yours?? 🤔😁

Not one made by Bowen, perfectly laid out, perfectly inline, perfect throats with no barrel markings. NawSir, dont believe they factory produce that one yet.
