My son picked up one of the long barreled 357 Maximums at our local (but now Cabelas) Gander Mountain for under $700. Of course it was mislabeled and overpriced as a 357 Magnum. Sometimes their ignorance pays off. It was in nearly unfired condition.

Watched one go at auction recently and after taxes and fees the total price topped 2k.
Seems the good deals are getting harder to find.

With all revolvers seeming to go skyward in price with FUD running high, it surprises me that you can get a Ruger Max under $1,000.
The Max is a spectacular sixshooter.

Prescut The market has shifted a lot recently. It's not that anything has gone down in price, but the things that have not gone up are a relative value now. Scandium S&W guns don't seem to have changed much while traditional S&Ws have gone up a few hundred dollars it seems.

Sometimes you get lucky.
