Hello. I recently installed a Power Custom hammer/trigger/transfer bar on my Single Seven. I am trying to diagnose a problem I am having and hoping I can get some advice. In drawing the hammer back it stops immediately before reaching the half-cock position. If I release the hammer slightly it releases and everything proceeds normally to the full cock position. I dressed the lower notch on the pawl per the PC directions and all chambers lock up correctly. The Belt Mtn base pin is inserted correctly and is not damaged or bent. I noticed the problem always occurs with the cylinder in place; with the cylinder removed it sometimes occurs and sometimes works fine. I've noticed that with the cylinder out and by turning the revolver on its side it will usually correct itself (base pin in place). If I put the cylinder back in the problem returns. In playing around I noticed that with the cylinder out if I hold the pawl in with my finger the problem re-occurs. I suspect either the pawl and/or maybe the step on the PC transfer bar is the culprit, but before I start filing parts I thought it would be smart to diagnose the problem before jumping to a "solution". Any ideas? Thanks!

Yes, the bolt drops as it should both with cylinder in and cylinder removed.

With everything installed, point the barrel straight up and see if it’ll cock fully. If it does, it sound like your base pin is not seating properly to push the transfer bar away from your firing pin or base pin is too short. This cause the transfer bar to hang on the firing pin when cocking.

Very well could be ^^^^^this^^^^^.
If it’s not the cylinder pin I’d call them and ask to speak to Ron.

Update: Upon closer inspection of the pawl I noticed a small shiny spot on a corner of the upper tooth. Maybe there was a small burr on the pawl or frame window; maybe the new hammer shifted things around a tiny bit. Regardless, after a few swipes with a barrette file everything now cycles smooth as butter. Thanks, everyone.
