THE NURSE MAY NEED TO HOLD THE 4-1/2# .44 BOOK FOR YOU He's probably hoping that the nurse will hold about 4-1/2" of something else for him!!😁😁 Seriously though we all wish you a speedy recovery LOL! :.)

Well, I finally got a chance to cut the seal on the new 44 book, to say it is an impressive work is a gross understatement. Thanks John, I will treasue this book always in my collection.

Mine came yesterday. Delivery of the book was much preferable to answering my email questioning if there was a problem.
To be completely honest, I am extremely impressed. I spent an hour just leafing thru the book looking at the pictures. Today I'll start reading. I expect it to take the better part of the next 6 months.
I hope that everyone that wants a copy gets it. Books are not meant to be hoarded with the expectation that they will increase in value. They are meant to be read and enjoyed.

Absolutely correct, the world would be a lot better place if people would just 'read the book'.

Happy dance day, 2.0. I got J.T’s Book Of The 45 about two months ago and the Book Of The 44 came in today! Thanks in advance John, for a pleasure that’s very rare these days, hours of peace and quite spent with really good books. Then, the noisy aftermath when I can put the new information to good use. :- )

My parents ordered a copy for my BD back in June. Finally came in. Worth the wait. Looks like Mr. Taffin likes a FA 97 44 special as much as I do.

Got my copy, what a great book! John I have a question regarding the 44 Associates booklet you’ve included … the seating depth listed for the Keith bullet is listed at .335”. My Lyman 429421 and H&G #503 both seat somewhere around .365” or .375” into the case. Were early Keith’s somewhat shorter in this dimension? For example, when I look at Keith’s famous Last Word article, the photos are fuzzy but his bullet does look a little shorter to my eye than the early Ideal 429421 molds I’ve seen. Just wondering if you had any insight on this.

NOT MUCH INSIGHT BUT KEITH WAS OFTEN UPSET AT LYMAN FOR CHANGING THE DIMENSIONS OF HIS BULLETS. HE RECOMMENDED HENSLEY & GIBBS AS AUTHENTIC KEITH DESIGNS.

Mine would probably be the last revolver I'd give up. As close to a perfect carrying, do anything revolver as I've ever seen. I'd hate to choose between it and the 45 Colt version. Both are nearly ideal...

Books are not meant to be hoarded with the expectation that they will increase in value. They are meant to be read and enjoyed. I apologize for quoting my own post. I've been taking my time reading thru the book. Yesterday, I went to the shop and got the original copy of "Book of the 44" to see just how much different it was. There was no comparison in quality and the content seemed to be almost all new. I will admit that I didn't spend a lot of time in comparing but I'm not planning to give away the older, soft cover edition. One reason that I quoted my post is that a few days after my copy came, I got a second package that looked suspiciously like the first package. I didn't open it but called Wolfe to report that I had a second copy. They thanked me and sent a postage paid label for it's return. I guess somebody assumed that the first book had been lost in the mail.

Read though mine some last night. A wonderful book as was the first.
A book full of real information based on decades of research. Pictures of guns, targets and load data included. Really liked the information from Brian Pearce being included. Refreshing to see coworkers collaborate to provide thorough research to consumers.
This book is the real deal in an era of "Internet Facts."
This one will be the Drivers Manual of 44s for years to come...

If you are lucky enough to stop by Buckhorn Gun today, you could get it autographed in person. I had him do The Book of The 45 as well. Thanks Mr. Taffin !
