I needed a rear sight pivot pin for a SRH that I just got. Checked around and the Ruger ones go for $12-15. I looked on McMaster-Carr's web-site and found a 1ft long piece of precision ground 304 stainless rod .0625" dia. for $6.50. Enough to make 14 sight pins.

I’ve used a cut up Allen wrench that was a much snugger fit and tougher steel. However your find is a nice to know bit of info.

Grip screw for charter arms? $9 - if available. Hardware store screw with matching threads? .75 cents. Cut to lengths and cold blue the end.

I always to to the hardware store for all roll pins/spring pins. ACE has a "gun screw" drawer among all those other fasteners. All the screws for Contender Stocks/forearms are common hardware store stuff. I made new action screws for a CZ527 using ACE metric cap screws by reshaping the head a little. You can buys these pre-made for something like $20, but each screw is under a buck individually.

For $6/each, that sounds exactly like what you're getting.
