Interesting. I used to live out that way and wasn't aware they were there. On their website, they mention feral hogs coming from farms during two different hurricanes. Ferals have been entrenched in that area much longer than that. A lot of them were released during the Depression from area farms under foreclosure, rather than let the banks have them. There actually were not that many hog farms in that area during the two mentioned hurricanes.
There is also hog hunting in the same general area on property owned by Johnston Community College. You don't have the same amenities as Hog Heaven, but for locals, it winds up being quite a bit cheaper with high success rates.
