Skunked again. No tags for me in the home state.
I think I'll need to figure something out for the coming season in a different state.
This Nevada lottery draw. Not a great bounty of opportunity for me over the last ten years.
I need to look at current non resident application protocols elsewhere.

I hear that from friends in NM as well, they feel like a nonresident has a better chance

I'm in NM and I have usually done pretty well but the last 2 years have been blanks.
The Governor is trying to do some sort of incentive to get jabbed by offering hunting licenses. Just what we need....Applicants in state increase something like 40% last year.
Guess everybody thought hunting was going to keep them from starving...wish I could laugh.

I was looking into non-resident tags for CO since my cousin has some prime property out there & I'm now only 2 states away (instead of 8), but I believe I've got better odds of hitting the lottery. Only thing I've read more Byzantine & convoluted than their NR hunting regs is the word salad used by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Gabriel and I drew WY elk tags this week. So now the planning begins.

Congrats to all who drew!!

My uncle had great hunts in Wyoming... antelope, mule deer and elk. He was living in Montana then.

I have a local friend who goes to the bank every year & borrows about $5,000 & puts in for every tag he can, in every state he can. He knows most will be strike outs but he also knows he will hit at least one, if not 2 tags somewhere & he does. Then he pays the bank back & he has a tag or two in his pocket. Costs a little more but he has some very good hunts every year.

Six,....when I was on a hunting lease, I used to do my lease payment the same way. Instead of having to come up with a lump sum twice during the year (times were lean then) I’d simply take a low interest loan and pay it off in 12 months time to do it all over again. Paying small amounts and increasing my credit rating.

PUBLIC LAND TAGS ARE HARD TO DRAW IN TEXAS BUT FOR PRIVATE LAND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DRAW OUT YOUR WALLET AND PAY.

Drawing tags for private land hunts in other states is not to difficult either, if the unit is mostly private. But for visitors coming to Texas it’s all about having land access, then you simply buy your license, and it’s not one license for one animal.

NC doesn't have any draw, but the only thing worth the expense of coming here to hunt is some of the world's largest black bears. The deer are so overpopulated they are becoming stunted.

Trapr IN TEXAS A NON-RESIDENT CAN BUY A 5 DAY HUNTING LICENSE, WITHOUT WHITETAIL TAGS, FOR NEXT TO NOTHING, AND I THINK DEER TAGS ARE OR WERE AROUND $200, THE COST IS IN THE ACCESS AND/OR TROPHY FEES. - 45MAN

John, that sounds like my friends from Boise, the wife drew last year & killed a very nice bull on one of my honey holes close to town & then this year he calls me & tells me he drew a moose tag! Yikes, 2 for 2 & it took me 17 years to draw my once in a life time Idaho tag. Dick
