I have to agree with you. Awesome and gorgeous.
One question: Are these reversed images (why are the loading gates on the "wrong" side?)?
Okay, maybe it was two questions. Okay, more questions:
How does Lee recognize the two tone as a "TLA" (since now I at least know what a TLA is..)?
Are there markings that identify one or more as a .41 or does kings6 recognize or know one (or more) in some other manner?
It's a steep learning curve for us newbies.....

Nope, they are not reversed, they are all TLA sixguns. Lee recognizes the two-tone as a TLA because he is a smart feller. By the way, that one's former owner had the grip frame and loading gate nickel plated because he didn't realize that plum parts are a GOOD thing. On the .41, I think kings6 has seen it before on another board! Speaking of other boards, Graybeard's TLA Board is a good place to learn more about TLAs and pal around with guys who love them: www.go2gbo.com/forums/index.php/board,183.0.html

Some more info on my TLAs, for those who are curious (in the order in which I acquired the guns):
1. West Texas Flattop Target .45 - S/N T 830 (bottom gun in the picture):
I'd dreamed of owning a Grover sixgun since I was a young feller (and I ain't no more!), largely from the wonderful writings of one John Taffin. Jim Taylor made that dream come true for me when he offered to sell me his West Texas Flattop Target .45 at a more-than-reasonable (as in CHEAP) price. Jim was looking to raise money for an African mission trip, and he knew that I'd always dreamed of owning a Grover sixgun, so he sacrificed a very special sixgun for his friend and for the glory of the Lord. According to Jim, this is the last gun to come out of the factory. She's been gone over by Hamilton Bowen, and has a Bowen base pin and action tuning. She's taken game in Africa, and been shot a LOT, but you'd never know it to look at her. Obviously, this is a "cold dead hands" gun, as it was my first TLA and it belonged to my dear friend and brother Shootist.
2. Grover's Improved Number "Five" .44 Magnum - S/N K 199 (2nd from top gun in the picture):
A little less than a year ago, my brother Jeff called me on the phone - I was away from the house, and Jeff told me to check my email as soon as I got home. He'd sent me a bunch of pics of a gun, like he normally does for articles, but he said he didn't want to post an article about this one. That's all he'd say about it, so I checked my email ASAP. When I saw the pics, I about broke my fingers dialing the phone to call Jeff to get the rest of the story. It turns out that a guy had emailed Jeff about the value of his gun (we get that kind of stuff all the time), and Jeff had subsequently spent a month negotiating with the guy to get that Number 5 for his little brother! (Jeff doesn't care much about owning Grover guns, as, since Jeff's a Southpaw, single-actions are already "handed" correctly for him). The gun is in great shape overall, but the guy'd had the grip frame and loading gate nickeled because "they had turned a weird reddish color" - ARGH!! Oh well, not everyone knows that plum colors are nice. Anyway, Jeff got me the gun with papers and TLA holster for CHEAP, so I sure can't complain. I'd already known I have a wonderful brother who's always looked to take care of me, but this was REALLY special. Another "cold dead hands" gun, my first TLA Number 5.
3. Grover's Improved Number "Five" .45 Colt/.45 ACP - S/N K 676 (top gun in the picture):
I bought this gun from a guy on GunBroker in November 2008. A Number 5 in .45 Colt with an extra factory cylinder in .45 ACP! From what I've been able to determine (with the help of some friends who know a LOT more than me, and who were friends of Bill Grover), this is probably the only .45 Convertible Number 5 made. BEAUTIFUL plum frame & even more plum grip frame. It also came with a very nice factory oak presentation case, which is also exceedingly rare. It wasn't nearly as cheap as my earlier TLAs, but I still got it at a reasonable price (at least to ME, Jeff thought I'd lost my mind).
4. West Texas Flattop Target .41 Magnum - S/N T 251 (2nd from bottom in the picture):
Finally, I received this gun on February 24th...a West Texas Flattop Target .41 Magnum; from what I've been able to find, the only one made. I got this one from a fellow who'd emailed me about TLAs - seems his dealer had bought out the estate of a recently-deceased man, and there were FIVE TLAs in it! Two Number 5 .45s, one Number 5 .44 Magnum, one Border Special .357, and this West Texas Flattop Target .41 Magnum - the guy wanted to know what they were worth, so I gave him a big ole accurate number, and he offered to sell me the Flattop Target to help defray the expense, and he'd keep the rest for himself. He made me a fair price, and I jumped on it!
Yeah, I know I'm not worthy, but God is like that.

I get this feeling that this is gonna cost me.........
Thanks for the detailed stories and descriptions. I'm considerably enlightened and will eagerly await Mr. Taffin's article for the rest / more of the story.
I figure I'm not the only one was ignorant about TLAs and noticed the loading gates but was the only or first one to ask the question(s). I can't say that I've ever run across one of these but now that I know what to look for.....
Keep talkin' Boge. We're listening. Thanks
