I'm following the ones that are getting bidded on. As of now one is up to 3800 with time left. There are a couple for 4999 with no takers. WAYY too rich for my blood.

Remember the mid-'90s when Old Anacondas were like $400 from CDNN?

Remember the mid-'90s when Old Anacondas were like $400 from CDNN? I had one in 45 Colt that I couldn't give away! I think I ended up selling it for $350

I hate that I traded away my 6" King Cobra years ago when I see what they are selling for today.

I had a KC when they first came out, damn fine rewolver. Got another one many years later, same exact model, blued 6". Had crane problems. Sent it back to Colt twice and got some BS story about how first they didnt have any parts, then it was they were meant to do that. I dont recall now what the problem was but it was most annoying. Down the road it went. Suppose if I could have another it might be a 4" blued, but on the other hand I have a 4" blued Mk V Trooper that works just fine, along with a Mk III Border Patrol that shoots like a house a fire. Keepers!

Python maestro Jerry Moran called an hour ago, says he handled a new Colt Anaconda. Single action pull measures 6 pounds 14 ounces. Double action went off his 14-pound scale; however, he says, “Double action is very smooth, feels like 12-pounds.” Lockup sideplay .002”. Cylinder gap .0065”. Missed Jerry’s exit hole measurements. Sideplate (the Anaconda has a sideplate frame) require extreme shock therapy to remove. Overall excellent machine work. Parts look to have been “tumbled.” A couple of drilled holes show “fine powder,” presumably metal. Moran says he saw only one area of hand-fitting----the pawl. (A retired engineer from Colt told me that the MK series endeavored to eliminate hand-fitting altogether, that the closest they came was on the MK IV or MK V, with the pawl requiring hand-fit.
Addenda: Jerry Moran reports exit holes on the new Anaconda he handled as .4315 to .432-inch. Jerry says the “plunge cut" forcing cone looks steeper than the ubiquitous 11-degrees. “Really smooth." V-spring for hammer fall & trigger rebound, circular at the bend to separate the leaf halves from touching. “When the leaf fingers touch, you get stacking,” says Moran.
DB: So, the major weakness you see in the new Anaconda is the Smith & Wesson-style stop (bolt)?
JM: Yes. Sets up possible fly-by.
DB: And the Anaconda uses a cylinder pin, ala Smith & Wesson? Unlike a Python, which has no cylinder pin.
JM: Yes, the Anaconda uses a thin cylinder pin, which seats deeper into the standing breech then the thicker, shorter S&W pin. David Bradshaw

Remember the mid-'90s when Old Anacondas were like $400 from CDNN? Yes I do, wish I had the one I bought back, gave $385.00 + tax back then for it, 6" 44 mag, it was a fantastic shooter and built like tanks in 44 mag anyways.

I paid $359 plus tax for my 6" 44 mag., when they first came out. They were definitely shooters.
