Tha angular appearance of the top strap remind me of the Arm Jaeger guns from the 60s and 70s.. I had one for a while, back then, and always found it a little clubby and clunky. Internals were rough and relatively soft. Accuracy was marginal..

When I was looking at getting an engraved gun for our 10th anniversary, I looked real hard at that one. I love the bronze hue of silver plating and those guns are hand engraved but they're also old enough that you'd risk getting a turd. I went with this instead, although the price tag on this one is really inflated. www.gunbroker.com/item/896646214

I like that... but you're right, they know what they want for them...

I don't want to highjack Mag's Thread. But, I've been very vocal about Uberti Revolvers. They are absolutely the most underrated value out there. Those 40 years ago, not so much. But, have 11 of them now and not a bad one in the bunch. I've learned to accept things change. Some that used to be crap are now great. Some that used to be great are now crap. It's just a matter of dealing with reality. I agree 100%! Uberti is still living down a reputation made 40yrs ago and that is a shame. The newer guns are much improved over the offerings of the distant past. Yesterday I was taking pictures of grips and I was struck at just how nice the case colors are on this Cimarron .44Spl. Anyone wants to know what I think of Uberti's, I hold them in high enough regard to have one engraved, finished by Turnbull and fitted with one-piece ivory. I've got two more Uberti's that will be the basis for full custom guns. The S&W replicas are particularly nice.

I like that... but you're right, they know what they want for them... It's a grand more than I paid for mine. All that shop's prices are ridiculous.

Uberti Leadership has made strides in building better products. While some American Companies have gotten complacent and tried to sell junk on their past reputation.
Will be interesting to see what CZ does with Colt. The most prolific example of Anti-American Sells and poor decision making all the way around. I'm hopeful CZ will do better by the people who supported Colt yet were betrayed.
S&W and Ruger are now guns I won't order. I only buy if I can put my hands on first. I see some that are of excellent quality and some that are shameful. I will still buy both brands upon sight if quality guns. But, no longer count on the name brand alone.
My friendships with several top gunsmiths confirm this is a pattern and not just my biased opinion.
In the end, we can all buy what we want to...

My question is why is it $600??? Local guy here has a OM Super and a OM 357 from about 1970. Wants 1500 firm in his ad. 🤷🏼♂️

Damn! I'm still 20yrs in the past on my OM pricing. I still think eared .357's should be $300.

I'm optimistic about CZ and Colt. Of course, it really couldn't get worse. If Colt got to where USFA was with the options and configurations, I'd have to refinance the house.
I've always heavily scrutinized all new guns before purchase but especially Rugers. My local shops are small and don't really carry a lot of what I like. I'll find a gem once in a while but it's mostly modern stuff. Since I moved in 2007 I've had to depend more and more on online sales. That said, I still inspect them thoroughly before I fill out the 4473 and am not afraid of sending one back. I got a nice model 57 off Gunbroker last year that looked great but had enough mechanical issues that it went back to the seller. This is why with Uberti's, I typically will make the 3hr drive to Dixie Gun Works, so I can pick through them. Last time I went I was going to get an 1860 Richards-Mason but every one in the store had the bolt dragging at half cock.

ya know... this thread has turned into a thread with a lot of nice looking guns in it... if I wasn't tight on cash right now, I'd bid on that silver plated one linked... & thanks to Craig for reminding me I've always wanted a top break 45... & those are definitely some beauties right there...

I like the El Patron revolver. The hammer looks like a Ruger Montado or SBH hammer. Maybe one in 357 mag to convert into a 41 Spl???

I see they also have a "Bisley" grip of sorts at least in the El Patron, they call the "Grizzly Paw" never seen one in person, & with the way the world has been the last year, that was why I was looking on Gun Broker... at least those are "available" no guessing what was actually made during the pandemic, or imported, or stuck in a shipping container in the Suez canal or any of the other major snags over this last year... I didn't see any 357's ( in the El Patron ) available right now on GB, but Uberti's web site does show them... as well as stainless Grizzly Paws listed here... www.uberti-usa.com/1873-cattleman-el-patron-revolverBTW... apparently the Montado ish hammer is their El Patron "competition" hammer

The Grizzly Paw has the 1860 Army grip frame.
