That’s an awesome looking Redhawk. Is that barrel machined from one blank or is the bottom lug separate?

Beautiful! This is my Clements Redhawk. Made shortly before he stopped working on double actions (unless he changed that policy since then). After reading John Taffin's Big Bore Six guns, which is a must have for any wheel gun aficionado, I HAD to have a 4" Redhawk for marauding Texas Hill Country bears . This was years before Ruger started making the 4". Taffin raved about Dave Clements, so I bought a used 5.5" RH at a gun show and started hiding spare change from my wife. I eventually sent the gun off and what came back was a stunning Bowen-esque Perfect Packin' Pistol, with lanyard ring and all! Its heresy, I know, but it shoots really well with the little red dot sight. It's not as unwieldy as it looks with the RD sight, but it needs to be replaced by a Bowen Rough Country because the revolver is just perfect for carrying in areas where big critters roam. I want to add a Tyler T Grip for nostalgia too. This is my "Taffin gun" and makes me smile whenever I see it

Very nice, and practical gun. I'm thinking ..what is your hoped for usage ? Then I'm thinking of those 405gr loads by Garrett ? Then I'm thinking, FlyingZebra, how about leaving yours in 44, but stretch the chambers to 445 ? I'm tired of thinking, guess I'll go mow some grass before 2nd shift work. A Looong day yet.
