I’d love a blue heeler but I know it would be WAY smarter than me!

Watch out , he/she may nip at your heels at dinner time to herd you into the kitchen. They do have opinions about how and when things ought to be.

Cute pup. I met one once while doing pipeline work in Arkansas, went from standoffish to sitting in my lap in the span of 2 days. Smart, tireless, and kind dog.

Great dogs. Nice markings. Here is my second heeler, Hondo. He's three now. He likes to be busy so the Idaho ranch is the place to be. Hondo Turkey by Brian RENO, on Flickr

Nice lookin' heelers there guys! I'll play too. We got Lilly at 8 weeks old on the 28th of December last year. She's different from any dog I've ever had before. She's not going to outsmart Robb or me anytime soon. She's super clever but hard headed as Hell! I wanted a companion dog and she's that for sure. Like velcro! Lilly the boo-dog Picking her up at the airport

Nice pup. We had a neighbor at our place in Idaho that had one and she was a character. Loads of personality.

Oh Lordy Greg! My daughter had a French Bulldog the year she and Scout lived with us while her husband was deployed. I have NEVER seen a harder headed dog nor neurotic dog in my life. I am still trying to remove the scratches in the woodwork she put in every time someone came to the door! The dog also lived with us while she did her accelerated nursing program in Omaha and when we drove a small U-Haul truck from Oregon to Omaha with her stuff in it, including the Frenchie, that crazy dog made the entire trip with its front paws on the dash board making sur not a single vehicle we saw attacked us! Must have worked because none did! Oh ya, Davie was black just like yours and could have been your dogs twin! Good luck!

Must have worked because none did! Oh ya, Davie was black just like yours and could have been your dogs twin! Good luck! Yeah, I know..."was a good idea at the time" got me in trouble again. Actually she's blue. Surprisingly she's not neurotic. She's super chilled out. Eats bark from the yard and I'm afraid she's going to get blocked up but other than that no problem. She doesn't bark much so we trained her to ring bells on the door to go out. Works great except when she just wants to go play but all dogs learn that game. WILL NOT walk on a leash. Sits down and sniffs the air. The Good Lord put her in my life for a reason like many things...

Get ready for a handful. I love mine dearly and he goes everywhere with me. Strong willed, hard headed and extremely loyal Wouldn’t trade him for the world ( most days)

Good looking dog. What does he weigh? Hondo is about 45 pounds of pure muscle. He is tough as nails unless you hurt his feelings. He compound fractured his jaw in two places last fall. It was ugly. I had to feed him through a syringe for 8 weeks. That was a challenge for both of us. He is a dog however, healed up and doesn't remember a thing. He loves the mountain life!
