If I had the money I would buy another 1895 Cowboy and cut the barrel and mag to 20" so I would have a carbine version of the longer Cowboy. In reality, even with a 26" barrel, my Cowboy is no longer than most bolt action sporters. I have a 450M with 18" barrel but dislike a mag that isn't the same length as the barrel and the tendency of Marlin to route a barrel channel in a 2x4 and call it a forend. I love the slim lines of the Cowboy.
