When I got my .44 DA 1st Model it had really nice original grips. I took them off to preserve them and made these to replace them-

Tinker.... appears a fine job of fitting stags. Be sweet to see a shooting report on your old DA S&W, with a slug into gelatin and a John Dillinger target, etc. David Bradshaw

As to shooting this gun has a sweet DA trigger, feels very light and even Linda, a notorious DA-trigger snob, pronounced it to be excellent. My first loads for this are a 200gr LRNFP at 650 fps or so. I'll be doing a full report on this, but in the meantime here's a 7-yard rapid-fire target-

Nice! A 5" 44 WCF that dates to 1882 resides somewhere in the dark depths of my handgun safe... Hasn't seen the light of day in many years. This motivates me to get it dug out sometime in the near future.
