A friend has a shop where I sometimes help doing the photographing and listing on GunBroker... Have picked up a couple of good deals from the guns he has taken in... The other day he bought a bunch of handguns, rifles and shotguns from an older gentleman who was downsizing...lots of interesting stuff...
Opened up one small pistol case and there is a 2.5" Colt Diamondback... Have had a 4" .22 and .38 in the past but sold them both 20+ years ago... Had been looking at the ones on GB but didn't want to spend the $1500+- for one... This one is unique in that it is a 4-digit serial number from the second year of production, 1967, and has a matte blue finish instead of bright blue... Doubt the finish is original but I like it much more as a field gun. Gun was in 99% condition with just one little nick on the bottom of the barrel shroud. Original grips had been replaced with Pachmayer Grippers which feel pretty good in the hand.. Lockup is just being short of a Freedom Arms...
Only have two other Colt revolvers...a 1954 .22 TROOPER .22 and a 1968 TROOPER .357... Kinda like the size of this being bigger than a J and smaller than a K-frame S&W....
Should get to shoot it on Friday with some friends...along with one of the pair of the .32-20s I bough a couple of weeks ago...

That is a fine revolver, I carried one years ago. Holsters for the detective special or the new Cobra model Should fit. One caution, I recommend having a extra main spring on hand. The spring is V shaped and come to a sharp point in the corner of the grip frame . When the action gets ridiculously smooth, the spring is about to break at the v point...tj
